Despite the challenges he faced, he managed to maintain a small chicken farm in the Mullaitivu district, providing for his family with the little resources he had. However, his farm was not equipped with proper infrastructure, which resulted in the loss of chickens and the poisoning of some of his birds by hostile neighbors. In 2019, Meiventhan reached out to us for assistance. He requested funding to build a shed for his chickens and to purchase 100 additional birds and necessary chicken feed. We saw his determination to overcome adversity and were moved by his dedication to provide for his family. In response to his plea, we provided financial assistance to Meiventhan at a cost of LKR 230,000, enabling him to bring his chicken farm to the next level.
